Langkawi
The next day, I went to the Skybridge which was very disappointing. Tons of tourists :-(, school holidays have just started and I had to wait 90 minutes after I had bought my ticket. The whole thing was like Disneyland and at some point I stopped counting how often someone stepped on my feet or flip flops. The ride in the Skycab was a bit scary as it was really high. When I finally made it to the bridge, it was cloudy and I couldn't see much.
The beach reminds me of the Playa de Palma in Majorca but I have to say, I knew it was very touristy before. Why I booked 4 nights when this place was compared to very touristy places in Thailand - no clue. Tomorrow I am going to Penang and I am very excited. There is a direct ferry but I will take the ferry to the mainland, a bus/train and another ferry, as I want to see a bit more than just the ocean and it is cheaper, too.
Langkawi Sky Cab, the world's most spectacular pedestrian bridge.... irre voll, hauptsächlich Asiaten, sind noch bis Neujahr Schulferien 🙄 und total touristisch. Nach dem Ticketkauf musste ich 90 Minuten warten bis es überhaupt mal los ging. Als ich endlich oben war, war es wolkig. Ziemlicher Reinfall und das touristischste und was ich bisher in Asien erlebt habe...
Beim Frühstück hat mich eine Frau angequatscht, wollte mir ein Fahrrad andrehen und letzten Endes hat sie mir angeboten mir mein Fährticket für morgen für 2 Ringgit "coffee money for the driver" zu besorgen, und da ich nicht genug Geld bei mir hatte, hat sie es ausgelegt und mir gesagt, ich solle das Ticket einfach abends abholen. Als ich dort ankam, hatte sie das Ticket vergessen und während sie es holte, hab ich "Diving" auf einer Tafel gebastelt (wie passend!) 😃 Der Fahrer hatte das Ticket aber mit nachhause genommen, was zu einem fluchen "I hate men" usw. führte ....😆 Kurzerhand hat sie mir angeboten, dass ich mich einem Transfer zur Fähre morgen früh für kleines Geld anzuschließe und dann von dem Fahrer mein Ticket zu bekommen. Total witzig 😀 Ich bin gespannt, ob das klappt und ob alle hier so hilfsbereit sind....
Ich hab im Auto auch gleich 2 nette Deutsche kennen gelernt, die schon dort waren, wo ich hin fahre: Georgetown auf der Insel Penang. Der Rest gestaltete sich schwieriger; der nächste Bus fuhr 4 Stunden später, jemand meinte, ich könne auch zum Bahnhof und dort den Zug nehmen. Laut Internet fährt heute aber kein Zug.... Dann saß ich 2 Stunden mit den beiden Deutschen im Bus Richtung Süden, und mein nächster Bus fährt in 90 Minuten. Es gibt eine direkte Fähre zwischen Langkawi und Penang, daher nachvollziehbar, dass es auf dem Landweg komplizierter ist.... 😉
